The University's History:
Nearly 10 years ago this idea seemed preposterous – turning a Herman Miller furniture factory location into a vibrant college campus.

It took a giant leap of faith, but faith is big part of what fuels a Christian university. After being spurned several times in an effort to expand near its San Jose campus of 65 years, university leaders were drawn to opportunities in Placer County in 2002.

The group from San Jose Bible College took a wrong turn on Highway 65 and wound up seeing a “for sale” sign that ultimately led to the college putting down roots in Rocklin, establishing the William Jessup University campus in August 2004.

On August 30, 2014, the University officially celebrates its 10th year in Rocklin, where the student enrollment (1,200) has tripled since opening its classrooms. This is the sixth straight year of record enrollment at the Christian university.

The University has blossomed since its arrival in Rocklin and the growth is far from finished. By 2020, the projected enrollment is expected to be 4,000 students.

This is also the 75th year anniversary for the University, which had quite the modest beginning with 14 students back in 1939 when founder William Jessup established a three-building campus across the street from San Jose State College.
