Denio's Farmers Market and Swap Meet in Roseville is celebrating “National Something on a Stick Day” with their 6th Annual Dog Day of Fun event on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors will enjoy a day of dog festivities including Wiener Dog Races, a Wanna-Be-A-Wiener Dog Costume Parade and Corn Dog Eating Contest.

Registered corn dog participants will go head-to-head in a four minute timed eating competition competing for $200 cash, a coveted corn dog trophy, and bragging rights for the year. There are also cash prizes for second and third place too! In addition, families and dog lovers will come together as they unleash and cheer on their favorite wiener dog during the Wiener Dog Races and the Wanna-Be-A-Wiener Dog Costume Parade.

“‘National Something on a Stick Day’ has been the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our world famous hand-dipped corn dogs while raising money for a local non-profit through the dachshund events,” said Eric Denio, Operations Manager of Denio’s Farmers Market and Swap Meet. “As we enter our sixth year, this event only grows bigger and attracts more people and pups from all over the Sacramento area.”

The dachshund activities take place from 11 a.m. to noon starting with the Costume Parade and promptly followed by the races. The Corn Dog Eating Contest will begin at noon. There is a $10 entry fee for the Corn Dog Eating Contest to ensure you are able to eat as many corn dogs as you can. To have your pooch shine in the parade or race to the finish line, there is a $5 entry fee. All proceeds collected from the dachshund festivities will be donated to the local Placer County SPCA to benefit pups in need. To register for the parade, races or contest, email Info@DeniosMarket.com.

Denio’s is open every Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Parking is only $3 per car, so Denio’s encourages families to bring their friends and carpool. Denio’s is located at 1551 Vineyard Road, Roseville, CA 95678.
